THE JUNIPER HILL PROJECT bespoke furniture
Trained in architecture and with a devotion to the practical arts, I root the aesthetic of Juniper Hill Project furniture in Japanese and Danish design.
Inspired by the ubiquity and antiquity of the Juniper Tree my work embodies the everyday-ness of the Juniper while nodding to its enduring presence through the ages. This tree stands out in each of the places I have lived and worked: The Pacific Northwest, Japan, Korea and The Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
The furniture of the JUNIPER HILL PROJECT is meant to be lived with intimately and built to last generation upon generation. My furniture creates space for people to feel at rest in, and connected to, the world.
Simple, clean joints between different materials demand attention and riff on architectural connections, both modern and longstanding.
In both form and function, JUNIPER HILL PROJECT furniture embodies a reverence for lifeways and vernacular design from the many parts of the world where I have lived while also answering the daily needs of a well lived life.
